Step Up for Homeless Youth

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

One person can make a difference. It’s as simple as that.

In that spirit, we’re proud to announce the Step Up Charity Gala to help raise money for the Covenant House PA, which serves runaway, homeless, and trafficked youth throughout the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The Step Up Charity Gala will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Bok’s Boys Gymnasium in South Philadelphia. Dress to impress in your best masquerade ball attire for a fun evening filled with music, food, drinks, and a silent auction! To purchase tickets to the event, donate an item for the silent auction, or become a sponsor, click here. Don’t forget to ‘like’ the event on Facebook!

No person – especially children – should ever experience homelessness. On a single night in January 2016, there were 549,928 people experiencing homelessness in the United States. In 2015, homeless outreach organizations engaged over 6,500 individuals in Philadelphia living on the street, in cars, abandoned buildings, train/bus stations, and other places not meant for human habitation.

It’s important that all of us take action to improve the community around us, and it’s why we’ve decided to ‘step up’ and do our part. We’re proud to be working with a fundraiser where proceeds will benefit the Covenant House PA’s critical work. During its 42 years in existence, the Covenant House as a whole has served over one million youth. Today, they are one of the largest providers of services to homeless and runaway youth in the world, providing services in 27 cities throughout North and Central America.
